As always, a massive crowd attended a packed Sunday race day at the TT Circuit Assen as the Motul Dutch Round fired into life. With Alvaro Bautista (ARUBA.IT Racing – Ducati) untroubled at the front for both races, it was a duel in Race 2 between Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) and local hero, Michael van der Mark (Pata Yamaha WorldSBK Team). In a heroic final lap shoot-out, the two clashed, leaving van der Mark to take the second place by the narrowest of margins at the flag!
